LAST MINUTE: UEF International forestry excursion week postponed

Due to a lack of participants, our UEF excursion week is postponed and will take place next year.
This year again, UEF will organize in cooperation with the Rheinland-Pfalz forest service a new workcamp for students from 27 October to 3 November 2019 near Kastellaun.
This International Forestry Excursion Week will be in Rheinland-Pfalz in Germany, after Poland last year.
The intention of the International Forestry Excursion Week is to get to know together with young forestry people from different countries the forest and the forestry conditions in Rheinland-Pfalz and Germany, to exchange information and experiences and to get to know the region and people with the same interests.
In the program are planed forestry excursions and events to the following topics:
Getting to know the woods of Rheinland-Pfalz and Germany, general forestry in Rheinland-Pfalz and Germany, methods and aims of woodland management illustrated by selected examples, influence of climate change in the forests, natural forestry methods and new cultivation models, geology, natural conservation in Germany, environmental education and public relations work,.
The accommodation will be for free and will be in the “Wald-Jugendheim Kolbenstein”, a former forester house in the middle of the forest which is used today as a forest youth hostel.
The only conditions to apply for participation are:
- To be student in forestry. The studies should not be completed.
- Knowledge in German or English
